Oktoberfest Banana Beer Bread
If you're like me, your fridge is overstocked with all those Oktoberfest beers. Here's a great way to combine craft beer and banana bread into the ultimate comfort food.
Ingredients
Here's what you'll need for the bread
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup roughly chopped pecans
- 2 large eggs
- 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup Oktoberfest craft beer
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
Let's frost this bad boy
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp of corn syrup
- 1/4 cup Oktoberfest craft beer
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Grease a loaf pan.
- Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl whisk the eggs until frothy. Add the banana and melted butter, and your favorite Oktoberfest craft beer.
- Mix so there are no big chunks of banana and then start adding the dry mix. Mix well.
- Fold in the pecans. Pour entire mixture into loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
